Greater Flamingo(Phoenicopterus roseus)

The perfect place to get airborne right near the Seeb International Airport runway. You can see this juvenile Flamingo has just taken off as he's still got water droplets on his feet! It takes a big run across the water to get this big bird up, but they are amazingly elegant, if not a rather big, long shape in flight, their wings are huge and powerful and they keep everything horizontal! Very graceful feeding and they like to be the company of other Flamingo. At the basin near the Airport there are over 50 birds now and they are a lovely sight to sit and watch.
