Juxtapositioned ...
... between old and new ...
In the foreground is Kampong Ayer (water village) where the houses are precariously built above the river; while proudly raising above it is a block only completed last year ... I know which one provides more interest to me!
To take this blip I walked very cautiously along a plank walk out to some fishing boats ... there are now crocodiles in the river and the last thing I wanted to do was fall in!
A very noticeable change in the past year is the number of supply boats now tied up in the river, no longer required to ply between Miri and the offshore rigs and platforms ... a very telling sign of the oil price slump.
