Spring wells

It was a lovely sunny morning so I headed out in search of another holy well as per Freespiral's request.  This one in Billingborough is in front of the church.   The wells have an ancient origin and were the reason for the village's foundation, water from them was also used to fill the church font suggesting a possible holy origin too. The presence of a fish and chip shop close to the pretty pond fed by the springs and a bench in the sunshine was noted for a future outdoor lunch.  The pub in the village also does excellent food for an occasion when the weather is inclement.
