N Edinburgh Cyclepath (Drylaw)
A gorgeous late autumn morning; crisp, cool, hint of frost, blue blue sky, low shadows. And a day out on the bike. Pity its early spring, though....
I dropped off at the school and headed for an easy starter for ten in (practically) Davidson Mains. Not prime Cigs country it must be said. EH4 has one of the lowest Cigs counts of all the areas within the city bypass (EH1 - EH16) but that might be about to change.
After successfully reporting back from call#1, call #2 in my diary was an interview. I don't do suspense, so the good news is I am to carry on blipping Cigs in my now familiar roaming free role of a midfield enforcer. Not helped by me stumbling across this (and another belter of a big one - the way the sun was shining meant it was tricky to shoot which meant I was late).
I also passed the Melville St one as spotted by meles as reported in the sleeve notes here - it's in white, incidentally. It's crying out for Leanne who's office overlooks it to pop out and feature in it; one for my people to speak to her people and see if we can negotiate a suitable fee.
By the time I got the interview, my head was not on KPIs and Performance Enhancement; neither was my heart.
Every silver lining and all that. Unlike the clouds that drifted over and deposited sleety rain on my for the second half of the day. William Gear exhibition got close attention at the City Arts Centre whilst the cold penetrating rain subsided to a mere downpour.
But just as I had switched off for the day; I had cause to perform a speey u turn halfway down McDonald Road as I caught a tantalising glimpse of the extra.... There's a fence jumping expedition required before too long.
