RETURNING

Today is my last day in Calgary. I woke up early. I sat in silence for a while with a cup of fresh coffee. I pondered the fruit of the past six-day silent retreat and the amazing weekend I was blessed to spend in Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.

At around noon Michelle drove me to the airport. I spent a couple of hours in the lounge. We boarded on time, Toronto-bound. I sat in my preferred seat, 12C, just behind the business class section. I watched the film Safe House, starring Denzel Washington. Between snoozing and watching, the time went by fast. Landed at Pearson on time.

Today was another one of the most common rituals in my life in recent years: the ritual of returning!
