Confused?
This is not flower Friday but Derelict Sunday on a Friday!
I have not entered this before as I rarely found anything derelict on the appropriate day so it's great that you can now post at anytime during the relevant week.
Think the weather is confused too as we had a very heavy frost this morning but it was dull ( almost foggy ) and bitterly cold for our morning walk over Noor Hill in Wilsden. No sun or blue sky and certainly not a glorious sunrise as we saw on this walk a couple of weeks ago.
On this walk we pass through very posh stables and then return through a traditional dairy farm. This is where I spotted the abandoned tyres. My initial reason for photographing them was the rime of frost you can see on the edge of them but then it occurred to me they would meet the challenge Derelict Sunday.
I was brought up on a small dairy farm and it is great to see one still in operation as of the many that used to be in this area most no longer function as viable farms. BUT farmers can be so bad at getting rid of their junk. Fields like this, especially out of site of the farmhouse, are often littered with old machinery and makeshift buildings.
Some ingenuity has gone into creating outdoor pens made of plastic crates for calves which we have fawned over on our recent walks. Good to see they are keeping them for now.
Later we had a brief snow shower and it now seems to have both brightened and warmed up a bit.
Happy Friday and weekend to come every body!
