........Grandad's grub...........

No not this.............this is what the Daughter needed when she got in from work...........we've both been fighting off a cold/flu type thing...........she's now gone off to bed with another hot toddy...hope she's ok in the morning............we've got a big day tomorrow.............you'll have to wait and see why!

Grandad''s grub refers to D, B and I going out for lunch today.........another step on the road to "normal"............something else I'm going to do regularly. We went to the Hare and Hounds.............at the foot of one of the local hills with a local landmark on top........walked in and the barman gave us a cheery greeting and asked how our walk had gone........we didn't like to disillusion him..........but we'd only walked from the car park to the pub!.........about 20 metres!

The sign outside had advertised two courses for £8.95................but the menu's on the table had 2 courses for £7.95..............we checked.......the lower price was correct.....prices had gone up......trade had dropped off a bit........so prices had gone back down!

D ordered whitebait followed by ham, eggs and chips.............B had Cullen Skink followed by ham, eggs and chips............and I had nachos with salsa, cheese and Jalapenos followed  up with Scampi, mushy peas and chips.........a couple of beers for B and me........one and a half for D..........£13 each!

Came home........had a coffee........fell asleep........I bet the others did too!
