I had to make a trip to the sorting office to collect a bit of mail and then had an unexpected lunch-meet with Doc who was passing through town having been at Jedbergh for the ba'. Mel turned up too - it was good to see them.
Later I went up the Walk to meet with Dave and the Young Archaeologists for their end-of-week drink. Not having had the foresight to put anything in the slow cooker I called in at our local chippie to get our dinner. While I was waiting for my fish to be cooked I had a chance to peruse the menu. Although Leith is now considered a go-to place for fine dining, the chippie provides evidence for the more traditional tastes of the indigenous Leithers. :-)
