I'm ashamed to say I'm, not sure if this is a tam o' shanter or not - whatever, he wears it well. And as you can maybe guess he is wearing the Feileadh Mor. The kilt had its origins in the Feileadh Mor - the big kilt - other wise known as 'the belted plaid.' It was formed from a single piece of material, pleated round the waist and tied with a heavy belt.
That aside, it was overcast, but no rain . . .
