Day 044/16. Always be ready.....

I have got in the habit of carrying my camera with a default set of settings that can hopefully handle sudden opportunities. It worked today when, during an after lunch walk by the old Itchen Navigation Canal I saw a flash of blue as we turned a corner.
This Kingfisher stopped briefly on a branch to take a quick look at us before flying off into the trees and was gone. Absolutely no chance to change anything on the camera, literally point and shoot......
