Miles Ahead

Whilst not walking to Blackburn - Addingham - or Cocking End Road - discovered this milestone on the north side of Silsden Bridge - on the main road through Silsden - apparently it was a turnpike route in the early 1800's - and was given listed status in 1985

Find it comforting to see a directional signpost - or a milestone with distances - especially on a new to me route - and much prefer to know how many miles lay ahead - rather than kilometres
