Chinese New Year

I took the boys up to Chinatown this morning to celebrate the year of the monkey!
We left the house at 8.15, we walked into the west end from Waterloo and had hot chocolate at patisserie Valerie in Shaftsbury Avenue and then joined the throngs lining the streets to watch the parade which was really good this year! Lots of dragons and great costumes and colourful floats.
Then we had lunch in Chinatown and wandered around the shops and lantern covered streets for a while.

Walked back to Waterloo and I took them into the Southbank centre where there's a lift that has a choir singing as you ascend and descend which is really cool.

Back home I flaked out in the sofa and watched The Secret Garden fir the first time, very sweet film.
