Life through the lens...

View from Jubilee Tower.

Glorious day!
Perfect for walking. We were so lucky.
Set off from Silsden, and walked up to Farnhill's Jubilee Tower.
Built by local people for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887.
Not the best looking monument, apart from the cross which has carved on it a rose, thistle and shamrock.
To represent England ( including Wales) Scotland, and Ireland.

This is where we stopped for lunch .......see extra photo.

Then down to Kildwick Hall, (See extra photo,)
Built in 1642, and added to since.
It has been many things, including a restaurant/hotel, which is why we did the slight detour, because one of our members had their wedding reception there many years ago!
Now back to a private house I think.

After all the mud, and difficult stiles, it was an easy walk back to Silsden along the canal.
Only one canal boat passed us , but there were many parked up, no doubt waiting for Easter, and better weather. This seems to be the start to the boating season.

Unfortunately the pub, where we usually go for a drink afterwards, had closed down.
However as it had just started trying to snow we weren't to bothered and headed back home to a warm cosy house.

A lovely way to spend Valentines Day.
We were all given " Love Hearts" ( sweets to those who don't know)
Mine said " Chase Me"!  but I was far to tired for that!!!!!
