Tomato

Also known as  the love apple (pomme d'amour).
Tomatoes originated in South America (Peru, Ecuador) and were taken to Europe in the 16th century. The early settlers brought tomato seeds to N.Z. in the 19th century.  Four different varieties are growing in the garden and I love them all.
