the ex-marine

today this man struck up a conversation with me in the parking lot. he was very nice, i was happy to help him wait for his son. he served in both the korean and vietnam wars. he once taught the jitterbug. he misses his wife, who died 3 years ago this august. he told me several times how beautiful, smart and good she was. i asked him if i could take this picture. he seemed very pleased to pose for me.
