Honoring Ed and Betty

They got married on Valentine's Day 70 years ago. 
We've known them for the past 26 years, and what a delight their friendship is! Ed was telling us how they met in 1942. He was in the Navy, stationed in Northern California. Whenever he got a three day leave, he would hitchhike to Portland to see her.

Beside visiting this precious couple, we counted more birds
(the owl was on his perch again), 454 Canada geese (I take a photo of the flock and count later), 14 Sandhill Cranes, one Red-tailed Hawk, Egrets, Kestrels, Mallards, Herons...
