Set off for Durham in a blizzard.  By the time we arrived the car parks were a white out.  Put the car roughly where we thought it should go.  When we returned four hours later the snow had gone almost completely and we realised we and a few others had parked many a few yards from any parking bays at all.  Some jobsworth missed a trick there!
