Another perk of my job.

As the Finds Liason Officer for the county, I'm the first contact many, ordinary people have with archaeologists in their lives. When they find artefacts I'm also the first to get my hands on these finds. 

This was handed to me yesterday. It's from a book, most likely Irish. It's part of the lock on the book. Dating is most likely late Viking Age,  around 1000 AD.
