The early dog walker catches the Kelpie

We were very early visitors to the Kelpies this morning. Very few people about and we spotted heron, buzzard and swans as well as the usual smaller early birds.
After another frosty night, there was still snow on the Ochil hills but none in the Helix park. Round our way, however, we still had a lot of hard packed frozen snow making walking on the pavements a risky business.
This afternoon we passed the old Kincardine in Menteith churchyard and stopped off to check on the snowdrops. While there are masses of them, there are still not as many as we saw a couple of years ago. Maybe next year!
