A fine backdrop . . .
. . . for a bit of running about.
A stunningly beautiful day in Keswick, although it was very cold and we did have a few problems with the covering of snow that had fallen overnight and the icy roads.
We took the two older girls (youngster and Grandad went off on their own adventure!) to a theatre production at The Theatre by the Lake - Tadpoles by M6 Theatre Company. This was an excellent hour's entertainment; very professional acting (just two of them) and a great story that was funny and sad and full of action. It kept the audience, young and old, mesmerised the whole time without any need for, what can often be quite unnecessary and patronising, audience participation to break the spell. Afterwards the girls remembered every detail and talked about the dilemmas and their solutions. They loved it. M6 says it aims to deliver 'dynamic, high quality and relevant productions for young audiences' - well they certainly did today.
Lunch and then a walk by the Lake, some running about, watching the birds and practising throwing stones (see extra). Tonight Grandad was teaching them to play cards!
Note that the doll has a whole new set of clothes, including blue shoes!
