Big job

During death tide the gap in the Phillipsdam has been closed. This is an important step in the project Maasvlakte 2.
Queen Beatrix gave the signal to close the last piece of the 11 kilometres dam.
The gap is filled with sand with the help of Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers " Prins der Nederlanden" and "Vox Máxima" who are working for weeks now from the Northsea .
10 million m3 sand is used to fill up the gap, a total of 325 million m3 is used for Maasvlakte 2
