Parcels
DPD excelled themselves this week.
On Tuesday, I got a text, telling me that my parcel would be delivered the following day. I was not going to be there, and my neighbour works on a Wednesday, so I needed to make alternative arrangements. I got online, and requested for it to be delivered to a local "pickup shop", and received an email confirming this.
But the next morning, I received a text telling it it was unsuitable for leaving at the shop, and would be delivered to my house! By this time, I was on the train to London. Fortunately, the wifi on Abellio Greater Anglia was working, and I managed to get online and arrange (at extra cost) for it to be delivered on Saturday.
A little while later, I got yet another text telling me that it had been delivered, as requested, to the pickup shop! Talk about confused - and fuming, since I'd just coughed up £5 for Saturday delivery.
The final denouement was that there actually were 2 parcels - one was delivered on Saturday, the other I had to fetch today from the pickup shop! I wonder if my older daughter can guess the contents?
