£1.5m?
Would you pay £1.5m for this?
I was at a meeting at Leith in Edinburgh this morning with the Scottish Government discussing how we might best capture information routinely to report on how action is being taken to support vulnerable children.
Then it was through to Glasgow for a different meeting about how we might measure outcomes in a practical way that is meaningful for children, parents and professionals. All very complicated and no easy answers but the discussions are needed.
It was a glorious crisp sunny day and the views of the snow capped Ochils and Ben Lomond made concentrating on papers during the train journey rather difficult.
On arriving in George Square in Glassgow a crowd around this car drew my attention. Of the 10 Aston Martin DB10s built for the recent Spectre film, only 3 remain in good nick. The car was on display before being auctioned later the week. The estimate is possibly £1.5m.
That is 40% of my total budget to support the 3,000 volunteers for whom I have responsibility who help operate the system for Scotland's most vulnerable children and young people. Just think what we could do with the 4 tyres!!
