Cooking Some Petals!
Spent hours after school this afternoon microwaving rose petals that we've been collecting.
My cousin is getting married in a few weeks (September 1st, day before my birthday!) and his fiancé wanted wanted dried rose petals to be thrown, because she's having a very natural nature wedding. So my Gran and I collected lots of red, pink and white rose petals to dry them. The known way to dry petals is in a book in the airing cupboard, but for the amount we needed for the wedding, that would have taken far too long. So I looked up on the internet quick 'bulk' ways of drying petals, and this was the best one! It worked really well, but it made a strange smell which gave me a headache after a while...
We managed to get out of school early today because it was the Prize Giving Ceremony this afternoon and it finished earlier than school usually does. For some reason, I won the Geography prize, even though I hate Geography and don't even study it! Maybe there was a mix up, but I still got the £15 HMV vouchers!
