Walkway Art

Nelson's railway line was ripped up in the early 1950's and has consequently been made into a walkway reserve.  It runs from inner Nelson right out to Richmond, a 26km return journey for walkers, bike riders, some horse riders.  Dogs are allowed on leads and in some sections they are allowed off leads.  It is a beautiful peaceful walk.  Along the way there are exercise stations, seats, fruit trees the public are allowed to pick from.  Also information boards and art.
