Slug Research
We went over to Bicester first thing to spend the day with Miss K and the lovely Miss M and Miss A.
We went swimming which was fun. I'd expected the pool to be heaving as it's half term but we had it more or less to ourselves which was ace.
Miss K and I spent hours, days and weeks of our lives in that pool when we were only a bit older than our children are now. It was funny being there again with her and them all together.
We went up to the cafe afterwards for tea, slush puppies, milkshakes, maltesers and lucky stars. Nice and healthy after all the exercise!!!
Miss K bravely took them all back to her house in her car while I went to Sainsburys for some gluten free goodies for Miss L. And some delicious sliced white for the rest of us!
The girls all played beautifully all afternoon - several trips out and around the block for Miss M and Miss E which I hate and she loves! Lots of colouring, hide and seek, ukulele playing and lots of playing upstairs doing who knows what!
Miss E and Miss M spent a fair bit of time collecting slugs and bringing them into the animal hospital they established. Nice! They then spent ages on the internet researching slugs and other invertebrates and writing loads of notes. If only it was so easy to get homework done!!!
We left at about 5.30pm, just before Miss E descended into full devil child mode. Lots of shrugging and eye rolling. Sigh!
