a red headed duck...

...found at the little lake

a brand new duck which - has never been there before - as i passed by walking around the waters edge - i saw a flash of white - out of the corner of my eye - then it was gone - i thought, 'ok must've been a fluke' - but then i saw it again - i stopped to stare and there it popped - straight up out of the water - this new duck i had not seen before - with a red head, white body and really pretty black neck - i thought 'huh' wondering what it was - when suddenly it raised up and dived back into the water - what a riot

i wasn't successful in capturing that particular dive - but i did get a couple decent shots - of this duck - as well as several others some in flight - but those were my more typical shots - and i am all about trying to branch out - to get those whom i would not normally get - so i really had to go with the red head today - can't pass up an opportunity 'cuz you never know - when or if it'll present itself again - by the way, if my research is correct - this little gem may go by the name of a 'canvasback' duck - now doesn't that just make for...
