Windy Out There

A blustery day, with a strengthening wind. In the evening we went to see a cinema showing of the opening night of TED - streamed around the world from Vancouver to a host of cinemas. The idea was probably better than the practise as most of the speakers weren't really top-drawer-TED, in my opinion. There was a interesting guy talking about the human genome and it finished with a dance piece from Bill T Jones that was captivating, and for me the best bit of the night, albeit not a TED 'talk' as such. and then we went to the pub for some excellent chat with L and P from the Soc Cafe group. L was delighted with the football - she's a Hibbie and they had just beaten Hearts in the cup replay. I, on the other hand, had to face the fact that United's 0-3 defeat at home to Motherwell almost certainly confirms we will be relegated, after a week or two of outrageous hope that we might somehow escape, following the 5-1 win over Killie.
