PDSA VIP Tour

Part of the prize Aiden won with her Photo of Lola was a VIP tour of the Pet Hospital which was arranged for today in Derby.

I was lucky enough to go along with her and it was fascinating. We witnessed a dog who had just been spayed get sewn back up, then a cat being spayed from beginning to end, a dog with pancreatitis being scanned, taught how to scrub up and put on a surgical gown and gloves, looked at a critter under the microscope, looked at various X-rays of different problems, watched a dog get his teeth cleaned and bloods and urine being tested, and so much more that I can't think of right now, but it was a busy 2hours. On leaving Aiden was presented with a photo frame trophy for having the winning photo of 2015 and a goodie bag filled with some stationery and info about a career as a vet.

Contacted my Mum on our return and she says she thinks she's turned a corner and feels slightly better and even managed to take Alfie out for a short walk, so hope it's ongoing and everyday she feels stronger.

Exhausted now and ready to put my feet up.
