In Riga
In Riga for a few days. Today's blip taken at sunset of one of the city's landmarks, the Vansu Bridge over the Daugava River, 595 meters long and built during the USSR. I was interested to read that the Daugava rises in Russia, in the Valdai Hills, and runs for 1020 kilometres through Russia, Belarus and Latvia before emptying into the Gulf of Riga.
A second blip today is a more aesthetic shot of reflections along the Pilsētas kanāls, the canal which runs along the line of the moat which once protected the city from invaders.
