Rain rain go away!

The day appeared so dark, where is the sun.  The blue hyacinth had been thrown out of the house last year and it is now flowering again, so it has pride of place on the kitchen window sill.   The scent brings back memories of my first day at a school where all the window ledges in the hall were filled with pastel coloured hyacinths - you can imagine how powerful it smelled!  The rather dried up Aloe Vera is really useful in the kitchen as the juice from a broken leaf rubbed on a kitchen scald is brilliant.  The discomfort disappears very quickly.
