Gritty

I have an assistant at work and frankly he's driving a bit nuts. He's been at the firm for nearly two years now (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/4264888) and sometimes he still seems as baffled as he did his first week. He does well for a few days and then, as sure as eggs are eggs, his work starts to drift out of focus again and we're back going over the same ground yet again. 
He sentences drift off into inaudible mumbles.
I've had some difficult bosses in the past and I've gone out of my way to be patient and accommodating but..I'm finding the whole situation especially trying this week. Management isn't quite the lark I imagined it might be!
