The works inlet, well the actual treatment starts up stream from here, further downstream there is screening equipment.
The actuator top to the front, drives a penstock (a kind of open channel gate valve) which (when and if I get done) will restrict the flow along this channel to 90l/s.
Anything in excess of that amount weirs over and flows to the storm tank, that's the tank to the right of the channel, where it is held back and can be directed in for treatment.
The direct flow to the works, along the channel and into primary settlement tanks
