Beach Huts

This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Gloria whose been visiting her sister in Hove.  I drove over  after my hospital appointment and we went for breakfast at Sunshine Books, Arts & Coffee - as the name suggests it's a lovely cafe that also sells books and artwork.  After we'd eaten, we went for a stroll along the seafront before taking Gloria at the station.

On my way home, I was behind our local bus and witnessed it scrape the side of someone's car but the bus driver never stopped.  I don't know if he realised he'd done it, but it made quite a crunching sound!  I had no way of getting his attention and whilst the car wasn't parked particularly well (with its rear end sticking out into the road) I couldn't ignore what had happened.  I didn't know whose the car was and as I was very close to home I went and wrote a note to say that I'd seen it happen and included the number of the bus, its registration number and the time it happened together with my name and phone number.  I then went back and put my note under the windscreen wiper of the car, so they can then decide whether they want to make a claim against the bus company.  I asked one of the neighbours if they knew whose car it was, but he didn't, although he said that he'd heard the crunch too.  I looked down the side of the car and there was quite a lot of damage and red paint off the bus, so that's my good deed for the day done!

I recently saw a large picture which was a collage of beach huts, so I decided to make one of my own and as we walked I took photos of lots of different ones.  This is the end of result of an afternoon sat organising them.  It's taken ages as I made a collage but then didn't like the way the colours linked up so started again and so on!

In my extras I've put a couple of shots of St Aubyns Mansions (including one with Gloria taking a photo) which is painted yellow and white and looked lovely against the blue sky.  Apparently Dame Clara Butt (a concert singer) and Vesta Tilley or Lady de Frece (a musical hall artiste) used to live there at one time - not that I've heard of them.

Anyway, I'm making a home made chicken madras for dinner and then we're meeting Alison & Tony for a drink in Rottingdean so I'd better go and get on.  Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
