Union Canal Towpath, Ratho
A day off.
No kids, no partner, no work. No way was I sitting around, so I got the map out (it's actually on the kitchen wall for easy perusing) and plotted a route to a far flung Cigs that I'm unlikely to get during a normal day and plotted a course for it. That course involved going east first when my destination was west, but hey.... it's all good training.
So Seafield first to unearth one under a bridge - OK - it's a Keft but it's got Cigs' autograph on it, so it'll get done. (Network Rail were close by fixing a fence so I didn't want to test their policy of fining trespassers, so did a rough shot with a zoom lens; one to revisit.
Then up to Jocks Lodge to scout for one at the Velodrome that lends itself nicely to shooting across the railway line.
And onwards in gathering gloom; wind ever more swirly, and out past the canal. I need middleman to instruct me on how to shoot one at the back of the new Printmakers place.
Still ever further west I rode; out through Sighthill; nothing new out there and finally after some slog, I rolled up at Ratho and got my shot; then fled for home. A brisk 45 mins later, soggy, frozen and muddy, I got in, ran a bath and thawed out.
