Friday: Black and White Books

So, in theory, our friends, Bev and Frank, should have been here this weekend.  Very disappointingly, they're not.  Bet has picked up a very nasty lung infection and, on top of that, has had a bad reaction to the antibiotics. She was advised a few days ago not to travel by her GP.  That means it must be bad as UK GPs are not known for being overly cautious.  Suffice to say, we are very disappointed.

The silver lining (for every cloud does have one) is that we were free, after all, to meet up with Vicki, and her partner, Anjoum, who is currently visiting. We had a very pleasant evening in the 'Craft Room'.

En route, we passed my 'favourite' bookshop.  It is hard to have a favourite here as they are all foreign (naturally) but I do like the busy nature of this one.  Talking of books, sad to see Harper Lee leave us.  She might have only had one book in her (I don't count the hype around 'Go Set A Watchman') but it was the absolute best of books.
