Wet day out..

Lucy bought Mr C a Sherlock Holmes walking tour for Christmas and we had to use it before the end of February, so we booked it for today.

A very wet, grey day but that didn't dampen our spirits when we arrived at Piccadilly Circus to begin our tour. We were allowed a quick glimpse inside the Criterion restaurant where John Watson was told about Sherlock Holmes. Shown the gentlemens club that both Sherlock and his brother Myecroft acquainted, Turkish baths and the tour ended in The Sherlock Holmes pub, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sherlock_Holmes

The tour lasted an hour, shorter than I was expecting and not as informative as I had hoped. Having done the Jack the Ripper tour a while ago, which was very good, I was a little disappointed. However, it was great to get out and we still enjoyed our trip into town.

We walked to Covent Garden and had an Indian meal and then walked through Chinatown back to Piccadilly to catch our train home.
