Cormorants on the Lake

Early morning today we joined the many runners, some with dogs and the cyclists and fellow walkers on the trail round Lady Bird Lake in Austin.
This group of what I think are Double Crested Cormorants ( open to correction) were sitting conveniently close to the path while the lake was also a scene of activity with rowers and fishermen.

The rest of the morning was spent gathering provisions for the party tomorrow to celebrate baby Abigail's 1st birthday/ baptism both delayed till our arrival.

Hard to believe tomorrow will be the last day of our 5 week adventure round the world!
