Cuil an Duin

Today’s Blip choice was easy.

The view from the bathroom window at dawn.

We struck lucky again with a last minute booking for a B&B, this time at Ballinluig. It’s just south of Pitlochry. We saw deer on the access road as we came back from dinner last night. Red squirrels were all over the gardens in the morning. Indeed two of them had sex as we were enjoying breakfast. Pheasants everywhere too, and even a woodpecker.

With the weather being back to normal, we went to visit Discovery Point in Dundee on the way home. Indoors mostly. The ship used by Scott’s expedition to explore Antarctica. A very enjoyable couple of hours.

Then home.

Here’s the B&B’s website. Highly recommended.

Cuil-an-Duin

I think the name means “surrounded by knowledge”. It could also be “surrounded by hazel trees”. I’ll go for the former. Don’t ask me how to pronounce it...
