This is the island of Cebu, Philippines viewed from top of Bohol Plaza.
We arrived in Manila at 4AM and after a quick visit home to pick up some clean clothes headed to the airport to catch the mid-day flight to Bohol. After spending 4 days up in the Mountains, it's now time to show off the heavenly waters of Panglao Island to J&D.
The weather forecast predicted heavy rains and an impending typhoon but to our pleasant surprise, the weather was clear when we landed in Bohol, in fact it was stinking hot! We picked up a hired van and the driver took us to Hinagdanan Cave where J&D jumped at the chance to have a quick swim inside the cave. The cave had a small lagoon 10-12 meters deep and is fed by gradual infiltration of fresh water and salty water when the sea level is high. The roof of the cave was littered with swallows nest which is the main ingredient for making the Nido Soup (Bird's Nest Soup). I tried taking photos of the swallow birds but they were just too quick for my slow reflexes.
Last stop was the Bohol Plaza which offered a 180 degree view of Cebu, the island closest to Bohol. This shot was taken from the Plaza while the three of us enjoyed our first, but definitely not last, ice cold beer for the day.
We ended the day with dinner right along the beautiful sands of Alona Beach and of course a few more pints to ease our travel-weary bodies. :)
