my uncles took me to a drag show last night.

FUN.

they officially got married about a month ago, after 25 years. they have an actual ceremony planned in april, but due to [valid] concerns about prop. 8, they made it legal before the vote.
they told me about the protesting and marches they participated in, and the unbelievable disappointment when it passed. they talked about how it feels to have someone to tell you that you can't be with the person that completes you. they showed me pictures from when they were wed, and I can't even begin to describe how completely and utterly happy they looked. it was all incredibly sad but beautiful.
