Embroidered Quilt (almost)

This is very much a work in progress.  I began this quilt many years ago but it had been put away, just brought out now and again.  It is made on calico with all of the blocks hand embroidered in thick embroidery cotton.  The idea is to give the effect of traditional candlewicking. embroidery.  I had forgotten how close I was to finishing it, all of the blocks have been embroidered and just the final two rows to be joined and quilted, using the 'quilt as you go' method.  I am determined now to finish it.  The extra is a close up of one of the blocks
