Captain James Cook

What a perfect day. After a leisurely breakfast we headed off to the beach where we spent much of the day with a perfect temperature of around 26°. We watched the locals out fishing and diving in both the sea and river. The horse racing was on at the local track and l suppose that led to fewer people than l would have expected to be out at the beach on such a glorious Sunday.
In the evening we went for a stroll along the beach front from our motel, this is where l took the photo of Captain James Cook, the first European to land in this part of NZ in1769.
