Claw

A single claw reaches out to touch or to rip, but how to know which beforehand?  I despise when nature shows ascribe human traits to other creatures, as in describing a shark as sinister, or a panda as cuddly, when sharks are just surviving, like the rest of us and have no evil intent, and pandas have been known to be quite vicious, despite their toy animal looks.  But this plant makes me think of some horrid sci-fi creature's clawed hands every time I see it!  Hopefully, it won't devour me one day while I'm stopping to take a closer look...  8^o
