Cousin John

We had a lovely stay with cousin John and his daughter Sarah in Onondaga, Syracuse, NY. Sadly, his wife Doris pasesed away earlier this year. The house seemed lonely without her. She was my ex-Mum-in-law's first cousin and, whilst not a blood relative of mine, she and John were like a second Mum and Dad to me. I stayed with them for 2 months in 1970 on a working holiday (BUNAC) in the USA It was the first time I had been away from home for any length of time and I'd never been abroad or flown before. I was dreadfully homesick and they were so kind & welcoming; we have visited them many times since. Sarah has been doing a wonderful job looking after them & it was nice to catch up with her too.
