Dunnottar Castle

Carpe diem (seize the day)!  The promise of good weather for most of the day saw us up early and out for a drive up to Dunnottar Castle, near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire.  It's somewhere we've been meaning to go for ages and we weren't disappointed.

What a stunning location and lots to see at the castle, although much has been destroyed or removed.  I realised there would be loads of steps but I hadn't reckoned on quite how many!  (See extra). My legs will be sore tomorrow:-)

I loved the views from all the windows and have included a few extra shots.  Drove home along the coast road with wonderful views for miles.  A great day out:-)
