The camera lies
Look at that smile... The smile of an optimist who has got up early, is making breakfast whilst listening to some upbeat music and feels that there is light at the end of the tunnel, the corner has been turned and that all is probably for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
The fool.
An after to complement this before would tell a different story. A story that would cause a Kafka who had just had a row with Mrs Kafka during the course of which he had stubbed his toe whilst kicking a wall to illustrate a particularly subtle part of his argument to shake his head sadly whilst opining that, in his (Kafka's) view, the author was being a bit of a misery-guts and ought to lighten up a bit.
From being "almost there" with the work, it has gone to "everything got broken whilst we were trying to fix the last few remaining problems".
And the car, which was left with the lid off so that it could dry out after being caught in a deluge whilst I worked late, has got caught in another deluge whilst I am working late again.
And even being on the Internet whilst at work doesn't seem that great if it is 8:00 in the evening.
Pants.
