The saga continues ...
Unfortunately no change overnight.
Phone call with customer service ensured that no cancellation charges would apply. Phew! Though just as well!
Seriously long phone call with a lovely, and super helpful, technical person resulted in (condensed version) "Not sure why, but it looks like we just can't do what BT can do".
However after the call, whilst doing the final thing he suggested, I discovered that channel 3 worked and we've had several hours interrupted broadband!
Let's see what tonight, overnight and tomorrow brings!
