Easter gifts (by Lydia Niziblian)

As my friend Ric commented, when Lydia Jones married and changed her name to Lydia Niziblian, it was quite an extraordinary surname transition. 

It's a long time since I first met Lyd, when I was at university with her brother, Ash. And whilst I see him several times a year, it must be nearly thirty years since I've seen her. I am, however, in touch with her, at least occasionally, as she makes beautiful jewellery, which I sometimes buy for gifts. (She also made a beautiful bookmark for me, which I thought I'd blipped but I can't find the post.)

Often, when I ask Lyd to do stuff for me, I leave it until the last minute, but this year, when it came to Easter presents for my older girls, I managed to ask in a more timely manner. The items arrived today, in Lyd's beautiful packaging, but now I have to wait (impatiently) until Easter to give them to my girls: there's something to be said for doing things at the last minute, after all.
