Think
No, this isnt a fruit called a "think" but I do hope it will cause you to do just that... THINK.
Yesterday I indicated that I might have something special up my sleeve for today. Well, I did. In the office today we had a training session for bus drivers from the rural transport scheme. Local transport for places where the national carriers never go. Local transport sponsored and organised out of the County Wicklow Partnership where I work. First thing after lunch the "students" were all bundled outside for a practical session on evacuating passengers from a burning bus. Actually a bus filled with theatrical smoke. As I was the official photographer, I managed to get a few nice shots since I had freedom to go where I liked and no competition jostling for position.
Bagged the shots, uploaded them to the office computer and duly formatted the memory card. Came home. Bugger! All the shots AND the ones I shot before office hours, in glorious sunshine, were on that card! Ran it through recovery software and to my surprise I recovered every one of them BUT only in a tiny JPEG file which is saved alongside the now vanished originals. The office is now closed down for the night. Blips all vanished and to make things worse, it's teeming with rain (AGAIN!)
The moral of the story is this. THINK before you format your cards and don't get caught out like I did.
So, what's this then? Well it's a small soapstone elephant. Placed on window ledge, lit with angle poise lamp and had indescribeable attrocities performed on it in Photoshop. That's what it is/was and my anger at myself has almost subsided right now. Just as well I formatted that card AFTER uploading to the office computer or I might as well never show my face in there again.
